Stuff I have been working on.

Hello. I'd thought I'd give an update on a couple drawings I've been working on for a long while, and a lot I have not finished. A lot still need fixing and I need to finish coloring quite a few of them as well. A lot of ones I've started seem to be fanart as well.

Anyway, take a look:

This is most recent. It's a character of mine.

This is for the 100 Movie Challenge.

Christopher Carrion from the Abarat books. I still need to scan it haha.

Red Faction 3 fanart. Lots of attention has been going to the background.

Gordon Freeman. I started this awhile ago but didn't get back to it.

Concept of Cthulhu. I was inspired by Silent Hill somewhat.

Anyway feel free to comment. You probably won't see these finished for awhile or on dA for awhile in that matter.

And new for my blog, I've decided to leave the text a bit larger in this blog, since it's a bit of a strain on the eyes.

Unrelated 01

So I have not progressed on those drawings I last posted at all.
And I may not for awhile.
So I would like to share with you my video game excitement;

I look forward to a lot of the games they announced on E3.
Funny that a lot of them are being released in 2011.
So I'm going to be poor as hell.

Landscape, and old drawings I wish to update.

So I've been trying to recreate places from photos.
I am, however, altering my photo in the drawing, to more resemble a post-apocalyptic world.
I wanted to do that very badly when I saw the dead tree in my photo.

Drawing:

As you can see I've gotten rid of the trees and added a horizon, to make the apocalyptic feeling better.
There wouldn't be many green forests after a nuclear bomb goes off, right?
The drawing is far from finished, the dimensions in the drawing are about 2008x1400, which is probably the hugest thing I've worked on. It's also going to take me a while to finish as I've been busy.

~

Alright, so one of my favorite drawings, from perhaps 2008? or early 2009? I don't remember. But now I look at it there are several screw ups on it. No matter, back then it was a major turning point in my digital art, and several other things, even if it looks funny. I'm not entirely sure what I wish to do with it yet.
I would like to add detail, or completely redraw it, or rework it to look better:

Anyway, thanks for reading, I hope you have a nice day/evening.

Unrelated

So I got a new art book today.
I've been doing more pen drawing.
I stopped using pencils pretty much.
So I should probably do something about that.

I was on Shelfari earlier, updating the books I finally finished (it took me like half a year to read them. Pretty sad right?)
And I feel like Shelfari should let you do blogs or journals.
You run out of things to do there.
Everyones eventually going to run out of books to list.

On the subject of books I finished The Digital Plague today.
It was an interesting follow up to the first book,
with a surprising amount of twists that I didn't expect really.
Somer's writing style is interesting too.
He's particulary good at giving the characters different personalities that really work well.
I really, really would like to suggest this series.
I absolutely love it. Maybe you would too?

And now, to be painfully off topic, Gamespot.
Their reviews, really quite piss me off at times.
I think some of them are getting worse too, and somewhat ridiculous.
It's why I tell people, when I look for reviews, I look for the reviews from the fans, and general people, rather than critics.
Because critics, personally, seem to be good at overdoing their, "critiquing".
Now back to Gamestop to prove my bitchy little point;
Alien Vs. Predator, the new one for Xbox 360, PS3, etc. Gamespot gave it a 5.5 out of 10. That's a pretty low score. While users gave it a 7.6.
Doesn't make since to me, really.
Same deal with Lost Planet 2.
Alright I'm done with my rant.

I hope everyone has a nice day.

A Work in Progress.

With this drawing I'm trying out a style I normally don't use on my crappy digital art. I'm trying to make the shadows with solid black, like marker or something. It's far from finished because I haven't done much lighting yet.
I'm really not to happy with it yet. I love the monster. I've got an obsession with monsters it seems.

I also have not finished the background.
I really hope drawing more digital stuff can improve my use of it. I really feel like I'm very bad at it, and my digital drawings always feel like they seem the same.
This is coming out to be different from what I've done before. At the same time I dislike it, I like it much so.

A first hello.

This would be my first post here on this blog of mine.
I will try my best to update it regularly.
I will use it to post unfinished art work
or unrelated things I feel like mentioning at times.
It seems like it's hard to get people to read your blogs.
So I would be happy to have comments or followers
and I'll try to keep things updated for you C:

See you around.
